Dust of concrete
In the series "Dust of concrete", Noé Vercaemst explores the questioning and emptiness left by the loss of a loved one. He intertwines archival images and photographs. When a loved one disappears, memories come flooding back in streams of tears and flee with the passage of time. What is left of him long after his disappearance? Fragments of faces, places without names, objects without history. The riverbed overflows, trees lose their roots, birds fall and tears make their way to oblivion. Some will flow into the lake, frozen in winter, calm and deep in summer. Others will dry in the stones, under the force of the sun.
